Halloween is on October 31st, the day of the Celtic calendar. it was originally a pagan holiday and was referred to as “All Hallows Even” and dates back over 2000 years ago. It is believed to have originated in Ireland and the original traditions have spread across the globe. Those traditions include children dressing up in costumes and spending their evenings “trick-or-treating” in their neighborhoods. Friends and families also attend parties together and play games such as “snap-apple,” treasure hunts, and fun card games. One of their strongest traditions is the eating of Halloween barnback. It is a fruitcake that has many hidden treasures inside. For instance, there is a ring that represents a person is soon to be wed and a piece of straw that means a lucky year.
